His hair ¹  began to grow back after it had been shaved off.

to satisfy a devastated and desolate land, and to cause it to sprout with vegetation? ¹ 

For just as the ground produces its crops and a garden yields its produce, so the sovereign Lord will cause deliverance ¹  to grow, and give his people reason to praise him in the sight of all the nations. ² 

It will produce thorns and thistles for you, but you will eat the grain ¹  of the field.

Then ¹  seven heads of grain, thin and burned by the east wind, were sprouting up after them.

Indeed, this is the joy of his way, ¹  and out of the earth ²  others spring up. ³ 

Faithfulness grows from the ground, and deliverance looks down from the sky. ¹ 

There I will make David strong; ¹  I have determined that my chosen king’s dynasty will continue. ² 

They will sprout up like a tree in the grass, ¹  like poplars beside channels of water.

Then ¹  seven heads of grain, withered and thin and burned with the east wind, were sprouting up after them.

For evil does not come up from the dust, ¹  nor does trouble spring up from the ground,

He provides grass ¹  for the cattle, and crops for people to cultivate, ²  so they can produce food from the ground, ³ 

He covers ¹  the sky with clouds, provides the earth with rain, and causes grass to grow on the hillsides. ² 

I constructed pools of water for myself, to irrigate my grove ¹  of flourishing trees.

Look, my earlier predictive oracles have come to pass; ¹  now I announce new events. Before they begin to occur, I reveal them to you.” ² 

In those days and at that time I will raise up for them a righteous descendant ¹  of David. “‘He will do what is just and right in the land.

If, as far as the priest can see, the scall has stayed the same ¹  and black hair has sprouted in it, the scall has been healed; the person is clean. So the priest is to pronounce him clean. ² 

Messengers ¹  told David what had happened, ²  so he summoned them, for the men were thoroughly humiliated. The king said, “Stay in Jericho ³  until your beards have grown again; then you may come back.”

“Look, I am about to do something new. Now it begins to happen! ¹  Do you not recognize ²  it? Yes, I will make a road in the desert and paths ³  in the wilderness.

O sky, rain down from above! Let the clouds send down showers ¹  of deliverance! Let the earth absorb it ²  so salvation may grow, ³  and deliverance may sprout up ⁴  along with it. I, the Lord, create it. ⁵
