Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles.

I tell you the truth, ¹  the master ²  will put him in charge of all his possessions.

What I say to you I say to everyone: Stay alert!”

So ¹  it seemed good to me as well, ²  because I have followed ³  all things carefully from the beginning, to write an orderly account ⁴  for you, most excellent Theophilus,

Herod added this to them all: He locked up John in prison.

I tell you the truth, ¹  the master ²  will put him in charge of all his possessions.

When ¹  he had said these things, he knelt down ²  with them all and prayed.

No, in all these things we have complete victory ¹  through him ²  who loved us!

For since I am free from all I can make myself a slave to all, in order to gain even more people. ¹ 

Now the one who receives instruction in the word must share all good things with the one who teaches ¹  it.

one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

Let everyone see your gentleness. ¹  The Lord is near!

And to all these ¹  virtues ²  add ³  love, which is the perfect bond. ⁴ 

I call on you solemnly in the Lord ¹  to have this letter read to all the brothers and sisters. ² 

Likewise also their wives ¹  must be dignified, not slanderous, temperate, faithful in every respect.

Think about what I am saying and ¹  the Lord will give you understanding of all this. ² 

Slaves ¹  are to be subject to their own masters in everything, ²  to do what is wanted and not talk back,

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people. ¹ 

And by being perfected in this way, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him,

Greet one another with a loving kiss. ¹  Peace to all of you who are in Christ. ²
