so that no one can boast in his presence.

Then people from Jerusalem, ¹  as well as all Judea and all the region around the Jordan, were going out to him,

For all flesh ¹  is like grass and all its glory like the flower of the grass; ²  the grass withers and the flower falls off,

When King Herod ¹  heard this he was alarmed, and all Jerusalem with him.

and all humanity ¹  will see the salvation of God.’” ² 

So then, if ¹  you will worship ²  me, all this will be ³  yours.”

For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers together until now.

In him ¹  the whole building, ²  being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord,

from ¹  whom every family ²  in heaven and on the earth is named.

But ¹  among you there must not be either sexual immorality, impurity of any kind, ²  or greed, as these are not fitting for the saints. ³ 

and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

But as it is, ¹  you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.

Above all, you do well if you recognize ¹  this: ²  No prophecy of scripture ever comes about by the prophet’s own imagination, ³ 

All unrighteousness ¹  is sin, but there is sin not resulting in death. ² 

Every ¹  island fled away ²  and no mountains could be found. ³ 

Now when Jesus ¹  realized what they were thinking, he said to them, ²  “Every kingdom divided against itself is destroyed, ³  and no town or house divided against itself will stand.

As he entered Jerusalem the whole city was thrown into an uproar, ¹  saying, “Who is this?”

Every person ¹  who does not obey that prophet will be destroyed and thus removed ²  from the people.’ ³ 

On the next Sabbath almost the whole city assembled together to hear the word of the Lord. ¹ 

For no one is declared righteous before him ¹  by the works of the law, ²  for through the law comes ³  the knowledge of sin.
