A little yeast makes the whole batch of dough rise! ¹ 

If the whole body were an eye, what part would do the hearing? If the whole were an ear, what part would exercise the sense of smell?

If ¹  then ²  your whole body is full of light, with no part in the dark, ³  it will be as full of light as when the light of a lamp shines on you.” ⁴ 

This all happened so that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet would be fulfilled:

The ¹  chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were trying to find false testimony against Jesus so that they could put him to death.

For what benefit is it for a person ¹  to gain the whole world, yet ²  forfeit his life?

For what does it benefit a person ¹  if he gains the whole world but loses or forfeits himself?

It is like yeast that a woman took and mixed with ¹  three measures ²  of flour until all the dough had risen.” ³ 

Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know that a little yeast ¹  affects ²  the whole batch of dough?

And I testify again to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey ¹  the whole law.

For the one who obeys the whole law but fails ¹  in one point has become guilty of all of it. ² 

“The eye is the lamp of the body. If then your eye is healthy, ¹  your whole body will be full of light.

But this has happened so that ¹  the scriptures of the prophets would be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled.

For they all gave out of their wealth. ¹  But she, out of her poverty, put in what she had to live on, everything she had.” ² 

I tell you the truth, ¹  wherever the gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her.”

The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for evidence against Jesus so that they could put him to death, but they did not find anything.

Early in the morning, after forming a plan, the chief priests with the elders and the experts in the law ¹  and the whole Sanhedrin tied Jesus up, led him away, and handed him over to Pilate. ² 

But if a male child ¹  is circumcised ²  on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses is not broken, ³  why are you angry with me because I made a man completely well ⁴  on the Sabbath?

You do not realize ¹  that it is more to your advantage to have one man ²  die for the people than for the whole nation to perish.” ³ 

Suddenly ¹  a sound ²  like a violent wind blowing ³  came from heaven ⁴  and filled the entire house where they were sitting.
