Now ¹  John’s ²  disciples and the Pharisees ³  were fasting. ⁴  So ⁵  they came to Jesus ⁶  and said, “Why do the disciples of John and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples don’t fast?”

So the disciples went back to their homes.

And the disciples were filled with joy ¹  and with the Holy Spirit.

Then John’s ¹  disciples came to Jesus ²  and asked, “Why do we and the Pharisees ³  fast often, ⁴  but your disciples don’t fast?”

As he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. ¹ 

Jesus and his disciples got up and followed him.

Then ¹  the disciples came to him and said, “Why do you speak to them in parables?”

When the disciples went to the other side, they forgot to take bread.

When the disciples heard this, they were overwhelmed with fear and threw themselves down with their faces to the ground. ¹ 

Then the disciples understood that he was speaking to them about John the Baptist.

The ¹  disciples were greatly astonished when they heard this and said, “Then who can be saved?” ² 

So ¹  the disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them.

When the disciples saw it they were amazed, saying, “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?”

When ¹  the disciples saw this, they became indignant and said, “Why this waste?

In the house once again, the disciples asked him about this.

Now ¹  people were bringing little children to him for him to touch, ²  but the disciples scolded those who brought them. ³ 

John’s ¹  disciples informed him about all these things. So ²  John called ³  two of his disciples

Then ¹  his disciples asked him what this parable meant. ² 

When John’s ¹  two disciples heard him say this, ²  they followed Jesus. ³ 

and Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the wedding. ¹
