“Have you understood all these things?” They replied, “Yes.”

‘We played the flute for you, yet you did not dance; ¹  we wailed in mourning, ²  yet you did not weep.’

For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon!’ ¹ 

They said to him, “Why then did Moses command us to give a certificate of dismissal and to divorce her?” ¹

Simon’s mother-in-law was lying down, sick with a fever, so ¹  they spoke to Jesus ²  at once about her.

When they found him, they said, “Everyone is looking for you.”

But ¹  he said to them, “How is it that they say that the Christ ²  is David’s son? ³ 

and said to Jesus, ¹  “Teacher, this woman was caught in the very act of adultery.

They ¹  said to him, “We have here only five loaves and two fish.”

Then the disciples came to him and said, “Do you know that when the Pharisees ¹  heard this saying they were offended?”

The disciples said to him, “Where can we get enough bread in this desolate place to satisfy so great a crowd?”

They said to him, ‘Because no one hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You go and work in the vineyard too.’

They replied, ¹  “Caesar’s.” He said to them, ²  “Then give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” ³ 

“What do you think about the Christ? ¹  Whose son is he?” They said, “The son of David.” ² 

Pilate said to them, “Then what should I do with Jesus who is called the Christ?” ¹  They all said, “Crucify him!” ² 

“When I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many baskets full of pieces did you pick up?” They replied, ¹  “Seven.”

Then ¹  they asked him, ²  “Why do the experts in the law ³  say that Elijah must come first?”

Sadducees ¹  (who say there is no resurrection) ²  also came to him and asked him, ³ 

The disciples replied, ¹  “Rabbi, the Jewish leaders ²  were just now trying ³  to stone you to death! Are ⁴  you going there again?”
