After they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret. ¹ 

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have not come to abolish these things but to fulfill them. ¹ 

“Do not think that I have come to bring ¹  peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace but a sword.

So ¹  they came to the other side of the lake, to the region of the Gerasenes. ² 

After they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret ¹  and anchored there.

Tax collectors ¹  also came to be baptized, and they said to him, “Teacher, what should we do?”

“I have come ¹  to bring ²  fire on the earth – and how I wish it were already kindled!

Therefore when you sent for me, ¹  I came without any objection. Now may I ask why ²  you sent for me?”

So after they shook ¹  the dust off their feet ²  in protest against them, they went to Iconium. ³ 

Then they passed through ¹  Pisidia and came into Pamphylia, ² 

Afterward I went to the regions of Syria and Cilicia.

Now ¹  as soon as they left the synagogue, ²  they entered Simon and Andrew’s house, with James and John.

When John’s ¹  disciples heard this, they came and took his body and placed it in a tomb.

Then ¹  they came to Capernaum. ²  After Jesus ³  was inside the house he asked them, “What were you discussing on the way?”

Now on the first day ¹  of the week, at early dawn, the women ²  went to the tomb, taking the aromatic spices ³  they had prepared.

So when the Samaritans came to him, they began asking ¹  him to stay with them. ²  He stayed there two days,

All who came before me were ¹  thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. ² 

After they traveled through ¹  Amphipolis ²  and Apollonia, ³  they came to Thessalonica, ⁴  where there was a Jewish synagogue. ⁵ 

Now I appeal to God as my witness, ¹  that to spare ²  you I did not come again to Corinth. ³ 

Go and learn what this saying means: ‘I want mercy and not sacrifice.’ ¹  For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
