He passed through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening ¹  the churches.

From Miletus ¹  he sent a message ²  to Ephesus, telling the elders of the church to come to him. ³ 

I robbed other churches by receiving support from them so that I could serve you! ¹ 

About that time King Herod ¹  laid hands on ²  some from the church to harm them. ³ 

Now I commend to you our sister Phoebe, who is a servant ¹  of the church in Cenchrea,

It is the same with you. Since you are eager for manifestations of the Spirit, ¹  seek to abound in order to strengthen the church.

because the husband is the head of the wife as also Christ is the head of the church – he himself being the savior of the body.

But if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for the church of God?

So they were sent on their way by the church, and as they passed through both Phoenicia ¹  and Samaria, they were relating at length ²  the conversion of the Gentiles and bringing great joy ³  to all the brothers.
