for we live ¹  by faith, not by sight.

He ¹  was given over ²  because of our transgressions and was raised for the sake of ³  our justification. ⁴ 

Therefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of the wrath of the authorities ¹  but also because of your conscience. ² 

Neither was man created for the sake of woman, but woman for man.

For this reason a woman should have a symbol of authority ¹  on her head, because of the angels. ² 

through glory and dishonor, through slander and praise; regarded as impostors, ¹  and yet true;

(For he knew that they had handed him over because of envy.) ¹ 

But he passed through the crowd ¹  and went on his way. ²

and because of his word many more ¹  believed.

For it is sanctified by God’s word and by prayer.

Then ¹  he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for people, ²  not people for the Sabbath.

For the law was given through Moses, but ¹  grace and truth came about through Jesus Christ.

Where, then, is boasting? ¹  It is excluded! By what principle? ²  Of works? No, but by the principle of faith!

But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, but ¹  the Spirit is your life ²  because of righteousness.

but I was let down in a rope-basket ¹  through a window in the city wall, and escaped his hands.

So ¹  in all our distress and affliction, we were reassured about you, brothers and sisters, ²  through your faith.

He answered them, ¹  “And why do you disobey the commandment of God because of your tradition?

God publicly displayed ¹  him ²  at his death ³  as the mercy seat ⁴  accessible through faith. ⁵  This was to demonstrate ⁶  his righteousness, because God in his forbearance had passed over the sins previously committed. ⁷ 

For the promise ¹  to Abraham or to his descendants that he would inherit the world was not fulfilled through the law, but through the righteousness that comes by faith.
