“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. ¹ 

“Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

“Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

“Blessed are those who hunger ¹  and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the children ¹  of God.

Yet ¹  his parents ²  did not understand ³  the remark ⁴  he made ⁵  to them.

raised their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy ¹  on us.”

They ¹  were talking to each other about all the things that had happened.

So ¹  they worshiped ²  him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, ³ 

And I set myself apart ¹  on their behalf, ²  so that they too may be truly set apart. ³ 

So all of them were encouraged and took food themselves.

so they too have now been disobedient in order that, by the mercy shown to you, they too may now ¹  receive mercy.

For you know quite well that the day of the Lord ¹  will come in the same way as a thief in the night. ² 

For you know yourselves how you must imitate us, because we did not behave without discipline ¹  among you,

They will perish, but you continue. And they will all grow old like a garment,

Do they not blaspheme the good name of the one you belong to? ¹ 

but, like the Holy One who called you, become holy yourselves in all of your conduct,

Not only this, but we ourselves also, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, ¹  groan inwardly as we eagerly await our adoption, ²  the redemption of our bodies. ³ 

And when those hired first came, they thought they would receive more. But each one also received the standard wage.
