Consequently, ¹  just as condemnation ²  for all people ³  came ⁴  through one transgression, ⁵  so too through the one righteous act ⁶  came righteousness leading to life ⁷  for all people.

Regaining his sight ¹  he said, “I see people, but they look like trees walking.”

“To what then should I compare the people ¹  of this generation, and what are they like?

saying, “This man is persuading ¹  people to worship God in a way contrary to ²  the law!”

because you will be his witness ¹  to all people ²  of what you have seen and heard.

since he wants ¹  all people ²  to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

They must not slander ¹  anyone, but be peaceable, gentle, showing complete courtesy to all people.

At daybreak ¹  the magistrates ²  sent their police officers, ³  saying, “Release those men.”

This is the reason ¹  I do my best to always ²  have a clear ³  conscience toward God and toward people. ⁴ 

Now it was for this very purpose ¹  that the gospel was preached to those who are now dead, ²  so that though ³  they were judged in the flesh ⁴  by human standards ⁵  they may live spiritually ⁶  by God’s standards. ⁷ 

But while everyone was sleeping, an enemy came and sowed weeds ¹  among the wheat and went away.

But a Pharisee ¹  whose name was Gamaliel, ²  a teacher of the law who was respected by all the people, stood up ³  in the council ⁴  and ordered the men to be put outside for a short time.

I wish that everyone was as I am. But each has his own gift from God, one this way, another that.

Therefore, because we know the fear of the Lord, ¹  we try to persuade ²  people, ³  but we are well known ⁴  to God, and I hope we are well known to your consciences too.

Am I now trying to gain the approval of people, ¹  or of God? Or am I trying to please people? ²  If I were still trying to please ³  people, ⁴  I would not be a slave ⁵  of Christ!

Those who long to be rich, however, stumble into temptation and a trap and many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.

For the law appoints as high priests men subject to weakness, ¹  but the word of solemn affirmation that came after the law appoints a son made perfect forever.

With it we bless the Lord ¹  and Father, and with it we curse people ²  made in God’s image.

They have ¹  tails and stingers like scorpions, and their ability ²  to injure people for five months is in their tails.

Then ¹  the fourth angel ²  poured out his bowl on the sun, and it was permitted to scorch people ³  with fire.
