Am I now trying to gain the approval of people, ¹  or of God? Or am I trying to please people? ²  If I were still trying to please ³  people, ⁴  I would not be a slave ⁵  of Christ!

“Glory ¹  to God in the highest, and on earth peace among people ²  with whom he is pleased!” ³ 

And Jesus increased ¹  in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with God and with people.

He replied, “What is impossible ¹  for mere humans ²  is possible for God.”

So then, no more boasting about mere mortals! ¹  For everything belongs to you,

But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, ¹  encouragement, and consolation.

Obey ¹  with enthusiasm, as though serving the Lord ²  and not people,

Let everyone see your gentleness. ¹  The Lord is near!

Whatever you are doing, ¹  work at it with enthusiasm, ²  as to the Lord and not for people, ³ 

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people. ¹ 

And just as people ¹  are appointed to die once, and then to face judgment, ² 

“For if you forgive others ¹  their sins, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

When ¹  the crowd saw this, they were afraid ²  and honored God who had given such authority to men. ³ 

Jesus ¹  looked at them and replied, “This is impossible for mere humans, ²  but for God all things are possible.”

In the same way, on the outside you look righteous to people, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

“This is what ¹  the Lord has done for me at the time ²  when he has been gracious to me, ³  to take away my disgrace ⁴  among people.” ⁵ 

Then the woman left her water jar, went off into the town and said to the people, ¹ 

But Peter and the apostles replied, ¹  “We must obey ²  God rather than people. ³ 

Then he said to the council, ¹  “Men of Israel, ²  pay close attention to ³  what you are about to do to these men.

who ¹  have risked their lives ²  for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. ³
