But God raised ¹  him from the dead,

For if the dead are not raised, then not even Christ has been raised.

For since death came through a man, ¹  the resurrection of the dead also came through a man. ² 

But Jesus said to him, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.” ¹ 

For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.

But Jesus ¹  said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, ²  but as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God.” ³ 

Now if Christ is being preached as raised from the dead, ¹  how can some of you say there is no resurrection of the dead?

Otherwise, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? ¹  If the dead are not raised at all, then why are they baptized for them?

The ¹  guards were shaken and became like dead men because they were so afraid of him.

He is not the God of the dead but of the living. ¹  You are badly mistaken!”

Now he is not God of the dead, but of the living, ¹  for all live before him.” ² 

(For they did not yet understand ¹  the scripture that Jesus ²  must rise from the dead.) ³ 

This was now the third time Jesus was revealed to the disciples after he was raised from the dead.

Why do you people ¹  think ²  it is unbelievable ³  that ⁴  God raises the dead?

We know ¹  that since Christ has been raised from the dead, he is never going to die ²  again; death no longer has mastery over him.

or “Who will descend into the abyss?” ¹  (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).

For this reason Christ died and returned to life, so that he may be the Lord of both the dead and the living.

But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised.

But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.

But someone will say, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?”
