We do not give anyone ¹  an occasion for taking an offense in anything, ²  so that no fault may be found with our ministry.

Then ¹  he warned them not to tell anyone about him. ² 

For I consider myself not at all inferior to those “super-apostles.” ¹ 

Owe no one anything, except to love one another, for the one who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.

Do not repay anyone evil for evil; consider what is good before all people. ¹ 

So then, no more boasting about mere mortals! ¹  For everything belongs to you,

Do not seek your own good, but the good of the other person.

Eat anything that is sold in the marketplace without questions of conscience,

For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.

Instead of being motivated by selfish ambition ¹  or vanity, each of you should, in humility, be moved to treat one another as more important than yourself.

I say this so that no one will deceive you through arguments ¹  that sound reasonable. ² 

In this way you will live ¹  a decent life before outsiders and not be in need. ² 

For we hear that some among you are living an undisciplined life, ¹  not doing their own work but meddling in the work of others. ² 

Do not lay hands on anyone ¹  hastily and so identify with the sins of others. ²  Keep yourself pure.

They must not slander ¹  anyone, but be peaceable, gentle, showing complete courtesy to all people.

Make every effort to help ¹  Zenas the lawyer ²  and Apollos on their way; make sure they have what they need. ³
