and he took it and ate it in front of them.

“I do not accept ¹  praise ²  from people, ³ 

I tell you the solemn truth, ¹  whoever accepts ²  the one I send accepts me, and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me.” ³ 

When ¹  the foolish ones took their lamps, they did not take extra ²  olive oil ³  with them.

For who concedes you any superiority? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you received it, why do you boast as though you did not?

When ¹  they received it, they began to complain ²  against the landowner,

But ¹  those tenants ²  seized his slave, ³  beat him, ⁴  and sent him away empty-handed. ⁵ 

Five times I received from the Jews forty lashes less one. ¹ 

And when those hired first came, they thought they would receive more. But each one also received the standard wage.

Whoever receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward. Whoever ¹  receives a righteous person in the name of a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward.

While they were eating, he took bread, and after giving thanks he broke it, gave it to them, and said, “Take it. This is my body.”

For you did not receive the spirit of slavery leading again to fear, ¹  but you received the Spirit of adoption, ²  by whom ³  we cry, “Abba, Father.”

But the Pharisees went out and plotted against him, as to how they could assassinate ¹  him.

When the disciples went to the other side, they forgot to take bread.

So ¹  they began to discuss this among themselves, saying, “It is because we brought no bread.”

Or the seven loaves for the four thousand and how many baskets you took up?

When those hired about five o’clock came, each received a full day’s pay. ¹ 

And whatever you ask in prayer, if you believe, ¹  you will receive.”

So ¹  they seized him, ²  threw him out of the vineyard, ³  and killed him.

Then the Pharisees ¹  went out and planned together to entrap him with his own words. ²
