Bless those who persecute you, bless and do not curse.

saying, “Surely I will bless you greatly and multiply your descendants abundantly.” ¹ 

She ¹  exclaimed with a loud voice, ²  “Blessed are you among women, ³  and blessed is the child ⁴  in your womb!

bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat ¹  you.

So then those who believe ¹  are blessed along with Abraham the believer.

Now without dispute the inferior is blessed by the superior,

Both those who went ahead and those who followed kept shouting, “Hosanna! ¹  Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! ² 

Immediately ¹  Zechariah’s ²  mouth was opened and his tongue ³  released, ⁴  and he spoke, blessing God.

Simeon ¹  took him in his arms and blessed God, saying, ² 

“Blessed is the king ¹  who comes in the name of the Lord! ²  Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

Then ¹  Jesus ²  led them out as far as Bethany, ³  and lifting up his hands, he blessed them.

Now ¹  during the blessing ²  he departed ³  and was taken up into heaven. ⁴ 

But Melchizedek ¹  who does not share their ancestry ²  collected a tithe ³  from Abraham and blessed ⁴  the one who possessed the promise.

For I tell you, you will not see me from now until you say, ‘Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!’” ¹
