¹ “Foreigners will take care of ²  your sheep; foreigners will work in your fields and vineyards.

Foreigners are powerless before me; ¹  when they hear of my exploits, they submit to me. ²

Foreigners lose their courage; ¹  they shake with fear ²  as they leave ³  their strongholds. ⁴

Our inheritance ¹  is turned over to strangers; foreigners now occupy our homes. ² 

Those truly of Israelite descent ¹  separated from all the foreigners, ²  standing and confessing their sins and the iniquities of their ancestors. ³ 

‘But I will take you out of the city. ¹  And I will hand you over to foreigners. I will execute judgments on you.

So you must love the resident foreigner because you were foreigners in the land of Egypt.

You will die the death of the uncircumcised ¹  by the hand of foreigners; for I have spoken, declares the sovereign Lord.’”

Foreigners will rebuild your walls; their kings will serve you. Even though I struck you down in my anger, I will restore my favor and have compassion on you. ¹ 

You stood aloof ¹  while strangers took his army ²  captive, and foreigners advanced to his gates. ³  When they cast lots ⁴  over Jerusalem, ⁵  you behaved as though you were in league ⁶  with them.

(All the Athenians and the foreigners who lived there used to spend their time ¹  in nothing else than telling ²  or listening to something new.) ³ 

Take a man’s ¹  garment ²  when he has given security for a stranger, ³  and when he gives surety for strangers, ⁴  hold him ⁵  in pledge.

After ¹  consulting together they bought the Potter’s Field with it, as a burial place for foreigners.

Hasn’t he treated us like foreigners? He not only sold us, but completely wasted ¹  the money paid for us! ² 

I will give it to foreigners as loot, to the world’s wicked ones as plunder, and they will desecrate it.

You have not kept charge of my holy things, but you have assigned foreigners ¹  to keep charge of my sanctuary for you.

So then you are no longer foreigners and noncitizens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of God’s household,

This is what the sovereign Lord says: No foreigner, who is uncircumcised in heart and flesh among all the foreigners who are among the people of Israel, will enter into my sanctuary. ¹
