Since they are detestable to you, you must not eat their meat and their carcass you must detest.

You must not bring any abhorrent thing into your house and thereby become an object of divine wrath ¹  along with it. ²  You must absolutely detest ³  and abhor it, ⁴  for it is an object of divine wrath.

“‘These you are to detest from among the birds – they must not be eaten, because they are detestable: ¹  the griffon vulture, the bearded vulture, the black vulture,

You must not hate an Edomite, for he is your relative; ¹  you must not hate an Egyptian, for you lived as a foreigner ²  in his land.

But any other winged swarming thing that has four legs is detestable to you.

All my closest friends ¹  detest me; and those whom ²  I love have turned against me. ³ 

They detest me and maintain their distance; ¹  they do not hesitate to spit in my face.

An unjust person is an abomination to the righteous, and the one who lives an upright life is an abomination to the wicked. ¹ 

But any creatures that do not have both fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the streams, from all the swarming things of the water and from all the living creatures that are in the water, are detestable to you.

And the people spoke against God and against Moses, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness, for there is no bread or water, and we ¹  detest this worthless ²  food.”

For my mouth ¹  speaks truth, ²  and my lips ³  hate wickedness. ⁴ 

A foolish scheme ¹  is sin, and the scorner is an abomination to people. ² 

that we should be saved ¹  from our enemies, ²  and from the hand of all who hate us.

The sovereign Lord confirms this oath by his very own life. ¹  The Lord, the God who commands armies, is speaking: “I despise Jacob’s arrogance; I hate their ²  fortresses. I will hand over to their enemies ³  the city of Samaria ⁴  and everything in it.”

then you plunge me into a slimy pit ¹  and my own clothes abhor me.

My child, do not despise discipline from the Lord, ¹  and do not loathe ²  his rebuke.

A desire fulfilled is sweet to the soul, but fools abhor ¹  turning away from evil.

Doing wickedness ¹  is an abomination to kings, because a throne ²  is established in righteousness.

“But I say to you who are listening: Love your enemies, ¹  do good to those who hate you,

But you do have this going for you: ¹  You hate what the Nicolaitans ²  practice ³  – practices I also hate.
