He makes nations great, ¹  and destroys them; he extends the boundaries of nations and disperses ²  them. ³ 

“It is all one! ¹  That is why I say, ²  ‘He destroys the blameless and the guilty.’

Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner can destroy much that is good.

A man who commits adultery with a woman lacks wisdom, ¹  whoever does it destroys his own life. ² 

With his speech ¹  the godless person ²  destroys ³  his neighbor, but by knowledge ⁴  the righteous will be delivered.

The one who ¹  is slack ²  in his work is a brother ³  to one who destroys. ⁴ 

If someone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, which is what you are.

Surely oppression ¹  can turn a wise person into a fool; ²  likewise, ³  a bribe corrupts ⁴  the heart. ⁵ 

Sell your possessions ¹  and give to the poor. ²  Provide yourselves purses that do not wear out – a treasure in heaven ³  that never decreases, ⁴  where no thief approaches and no moth ⁵  destroys.

The integrity of the upright guides them, ¹  but the crookedness of the unfaithful destroys them. ² 

The one who robs ¹  his father and mother and says, “There is no transgression,” is a companion ²  to the one ³  who destroys.

The Lord protects those who love him, but he destroys all the wicked.

Do not give your strength ¹  to women, nor your ways ²  to that which ruins ³  kings.

“If a man strikes the eye of his male servant or his female servant so that he destroys it, ¹  he will let the servant ²  go free ³  as compensation for the eye.

I have received a distressing message: ¹  “The deceiver deceives, the destroyer destroys. Attack, you Elamites! Lay siege, you Medes! I will put an end to all the groaning!” ² 

But accumulate for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal.

For the waywardness ¹  of the simpletons will kill ²  them, and the careless ease ³  of fools will destroy them.

The Lord says, ¹  “Beware! I am opposed to you, Babylon! ²  You are like a destructive mountain that destroys all the earth. I will unleash my power against you; ³  I will roll you off the cliffs and make you like a burned-out mountain. ⁴ 

But you are the ones who will be forced to leave! ¹  For this land is not secure! ²  Sin will thoroughly destroy it! ³ 

The one who loves his life ¹  destroys ²  it, and the one who hates his life in this world guards ³  it for eternal life.
