“You shall not commit adultery. ¹ 

You must not commit adultery.

You who tell others not to commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor ¹  idols, do you rob temples?

“Everyone who divorces his wife and marries ¹  someone else commits adultery, and the one who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.

And if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.” ¹ 

and said to Jesus, ¹  “Teacher, this woman was caught in the very act of adultery.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’ ¹ 

For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” ¹  also said, “Do not murder.” ²  Now if you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a violator of the law.

Now I say to you that whoever divorces his wife, except for immorality, and marries another commits adultery.”

For they have committed adultery and blood is on their hands. They have committed adultery with their idols, and their sons, whom they bore to me, ¹  they have passed through the fire as food to their idols. ² 

A man who commits adultery with a woman lacks wisdom, ¹  whoever does it destroys his own life. ² 

So ¹  he told them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her.

But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except for immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

“Which ones?” he asked. Jesus replied, “Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony,

The experts in the law ¹  and the Pharisees ²  brought a woman who had been caught committing adultery. They made her stand in front of them

Their eyes, ¹  full of adultery, ²  never stop sinning; ³  they entice ⁴  unstable people. ⁵  They have trained their hearts for greed, these cursed children! ⁶ 

If a man ¹  commits adultery with his neighbor’s wife, ²  both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death.

You steal. ¹  You murder. You commit adultery. You lie when you swear on oath. You sacrifice to the god Baal. You pay allegiance to ²  other gods whom you have not previously known.

There is only cursing, lying, murder, stealing, and adultery. They resort to violence and bloodshed. ¹ 

But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to desire her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
