“You must not allow a sorceress to live. ¹ 

then you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or mother.

But I do not allow ¹  a woman to teach or exercise authority ²  over a man. She must remain quiet. ³ 

and he would not permit anyone to carry merchandise ¹  through the temple courts. ² 

You didn’t even allow me to kiss my daughters and my grandchildren ¹  good-bye. You have acted foolishly!

Throw your burden ¹  upon the Lord, and he will sustain you. ²  He will never allow the godly to be upended. ³ 

So Jesus replied ¹  to him, “Let it happen now, ²  for it is right for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John ³  yielded ⁴  to him.

When they came to ¹  Mysia, ²  they attempted to go into Bithynia, ³  but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow ⁴  them to do this, ⁵ 

Their wicked deeds do not allow them to return to their God; because a spirit of idolatry ¹  controls their heart, ²  and they do not acknowledge the Lord.

But ¹  Jesus ²  did not permit him to do so. Instead, he said to him, “Go to your home and to your people and tell them what the Lord has done for you, ³  that he had mercy on you.”

And this is what we intend to do, ¹  if God permits.

But Jesus said, ¹  “Enough of this!” And he touched the man’s ²  ear and healed ³  him.

So ¹  he healed many who were sick with various diseases and drove out many demons. ²  But ³  he would not permit the demons to speak, ⁴  because they knew him. ⁵ 

but your father has humiliated ¹  me and changed my wages ten times. But God has not permitted him to do me any harm.

Jesus ¹  said to another, “Follow me.” But he replied, ²  “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.”

Cruel rulers ¹  are not your allies, those who make oppressive laws. ² 

I will have nothing to do with a perverse person; ¹  I will not permit ²  evil.

I will not allow my eyes to sleep, or my eyelids to slumber,

Permit no sleep to your eyes ¹  or slumber to your eyelids.

“Now, according to your word, ¹  Sovereign Lord, ²  permit ³  your servant ⁴  to depart ⁵  in peace.
