Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, where are you going?” Jesus replied, ¹  “Where I am going, you cannot follow me now, but you will follow later.”

My sheep listen to my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

For some have already wandered away to follow Satan. ¹ 

But Jesus said to him, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.” ¹ 

As ¹  they were walking ²  along the road, someone said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go.” ³ 

On the next day Jesus ¹  wanted to set out for Galilee. ²  He ³  found Philip and said ⁴  to him, “Follow me.”

Peter said to him, “Lord, why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you!” ¹ 

And many will follow their debauched lifestyles. ¹  Because of these false teachers, ²  the way of truth will be slandered. ³ 

Now I mean this, that ¹  each of you is saying, “I am with Paul,” or “I am with Apollos,” or “I am with Cephas,” or “I am with Christ.”

For justice will prevail, ¹  and all the morally upright ²  will be vindicated. ³ 

He said to them, “Follow me, and I will turn you into fishers of people.” ¹ 

Then ¹  an expert in the law ²  came to him and said, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.” ³ 

And whoever does not take up his cross ¹  and follow me is not worthy of me.

But I said to my master, ‘What if the woman does not want to go ¹  with me?’ ² 

Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ.

Yet ¹  another said, “I will follow you, Lord, but first let me say goodbye to my family.” ² 

When he has brought all his own sheep ¹  out, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they recognize ²  his voice.

They will never follow a stranger, ¹  but will run away from him, because they do not recognize ²  the stranger’s voice.” ³ 

(Now Jesus ¹  said this to indicate clearly by what kind of death Peter ²  was going to glorify God.) ³  After he said this, Jesus told Peter, ⁴  “Follow me.”

Jesus replied, ¹  “If I want him to live ²  until I come back, ³  what concern is that of yours? You follow me!”
