It regards iron as straw and bronze as rotten wood.

“You must no longer ¹  give straw to the people for making bricks ²  as before. ³  Let them go ⁴  and collect straw for themselves.

How often ¹  are they like straw before the wind, and like chaff swept away ²  by a whirlwind?

We have plenty of straw and feed,” she added, ¹  “and room for you ²  to spend the night.”

You ¹  go get straw for yourselves wherever you can ²  find it, because there will be no reduction at all in your workload.’”

The slave masters were pressuring ¹  them, saying, “Complete ²  your work for each day, just like when there was straw!”

A cow and a bear will graze together, their young will lie down together. ¹  A lion, like an ox, will eat straw.

For the Lord’s power will make this mountain secure. ¹  Moab will be trampled down where it stands, ²  as a heap of straw is trampled down in ³  a manure pile.

A wolf and a lamb will graze together; ¹  a lion, like an ox, will eat straw, ²  and a snake’s food will be dirt. ³  They will no longer injure or destroy on my entire royal mountain,” ⁴  says the Lord.

A club is counted ¹  as a piece of straw; it laughs at the rattling of the lance.

Let the prophet who has had a dream go ahead and tell his dream. Let the person who has received my message report that message faithfully. What is like straw cannot compare to what is like grain! ¹  I, the Lord, affirm it! ² 

You conceive straw, ¹  you give birth to chaff; your breath is a fire that destroys you. ²
