When ¹  the hands of Moses became heavy, ²  they took a stone and put it under him, and Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side and one on the other, ³  and so his hands were steady ⁴  until the sun went down.

When the earth and all its inhabitants dissolve in fear, ¹  I make its pillars secure.” ²  (Selah)

His resolve ¹  is firm; he will not succumb to fear before he looks in triumph on his enemies.

Direct my steps by your word! ¹  Do not let any sin dominate me!

Strengthen the hands that have gone limp, steady the knees that shake! ¹ 

But his bow will remain steady, and his hands ¹  will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of ²  the Shepherd, the Rock ³  of Israel,

If only I were predisposed ¹  to keep your statutes!

A continual dripping on a rainy day and a contentious wife ¹  are alike. ² 

He lifted me out of the watery pit, ¹  out of the slimy mud. ²  He placed my feet on a rock and gave me secure footing. ³ 

Jotham grew powerful because he was determined to please the Lord his God. ¹ 

Your words have supported ¹  those who stumbled, ²  and you have strengthened the knees that gave way. ³ 

My soul ¹  pursues you; ²  your right hand upholds me.

My hand will support him, ¹  and my arm will strengthen him.

For ¹  I am like a wineskin ²  dried up in smoke. ³  I do not forget your statutes.

May your hand help me, for I choose to obey ¹  your precepts.

Wealth gained quickly ¹  will dwindle away, ²  but the one who gathers it little by little ³  will become rich. ⁴ 

Look, the one whose desires are not upright will faint from exhaustion, ¹  but the person of integrity ²  will live ³  because of his faithfulness. ⁴
