But solid food is for the mature, whose perceptions are trained by practice to discern both good and evil.

I fed you milk, ¹  not solid food, for you were not yet ready. In fact, you are still not ready,

For though you should in fact be teachers by this time, ¹  you need someone to teach you the beginning elements of God’s utterances. ²  You have gone back to needing ³  milk, not ⁴  solid food.

the pure gold flower-shaped ornaments, lamps, and tongs,

The breath of God produces ice, and the breadth of the waters freeze solid.

He made his sanctuary as enduring as the heavens above; ¹  as secure as the earth, which he established permanently. ²

rock badgers ¹  are creatures with little power, but they make their homes in the crags;

these are only ¹  the shadow of the things to come, but the reality ²  is Christ! ³ 

But as for you, communicate the behavior that goes with ¹  sound teaching.

Then they must put over it a covering of fine leather ¹  and spread over that a cloth entirely of blue, and then they must insert its poles.
