¹ At that time Jeroboam’s son Abijah became sick.

This is the prayer of King Hezekiah of Judah when he was sick and then recovered from his illness:

When ¹  did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’

As he got out he saw the large crowd, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick.

They cast out many demons and anointed many sick people with oil and healed them.

They ran through that whole region and began to bring the sick on mats to wherever he was rumored to be. ¹ 

Jesus ¹  answered them, “Those who are well don’t need a physician, but those who are sick do. ² 

Heal ¹  the sick in that town ²  and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God ³  has come upon ⁴  you!’

When Saul sent messengers to arrest David, she said, “He’s sick.”

Hope ¹  deferred ²  makes the heart sick, ³  but a longing fulfilled ⁴  is like ⁵  a tree of life.

Erastus stayed in Corinth. ¹  Trophimus I left ill in Miletus.

No resident of Zion ¹  will say, “I am ill”; the people who live there will have their sin forgiven.

When it was evening, after sunset, they brought to him all who were sick and demon-possessed.

A centurion ¹  there ²  had a slave ³  who was highly regarded, ⁴  but who was sick and at the point of death.

A large crowd was following him because they were observing the miraculous signs he was performing on the sick.

So the sisters sent a message ¹  to Jesus, ²  “Lord, look, the one you love is sick.”

That is why many of you are weak and sick, and quite a few are dead. ¹ 

After this ¹  the son of the woman who owned the house got sick. His illness was so severe he could no longer breathe.

A person’s spirit ¹  sustains him through sickness – but who can bear ²  a crushed spirit? ³ 

Surely, he ate in darkness every day of his life, ¹  and he suffered greatly with sickness and anger.
