Ekron and its surrounding towns ¹  and settlements;

They also lived in all the settlements that surrounded these towns as far as Baal. ¹  These were their settlements; they kept genealogical records.

These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names by their settlements and their camps – twelve princes ¹  according to their clans.

Ashdod with its surrounding towns and settlements, and Gaza with its surrounding towns and settlements, as far as the Stream of Egypt ¹  and the border at the Mediterranean Sea. ² 

As for the settlements with their fields, some of the people of Judah settled in Kiriath Arba and its neighboring villages, ¹  in Dibon and its villages, in Jekabzeel and its settlements,

in Ziklag, in Meconah and its villages,

As for the Avvites ¹  who lived in settlements as far west as Gaza, Caphtorites ²  who came from Crete ³  destroyed them and settled down in their place.)

Their settlements also included Etam, Ain, Rimmon, Tochen, and Ashan – five towns.

in Hazar Shual, in Beer Sheba and its villages,

chief Magdiel, chief Iram. These were the chiefs of Edom, according to their settlements ¹  in the land they possessed. This was Esau, the father of the Edomites.

Their territory started at ¹  Mahanaim and encompassed all Bashan, the whole realm of King Og of Bashan, including all sixty cities in Havvoth Jair ²  in Bashan.

Their dwelling place was from Mesha all the way to ¹  Sephar in the eastern hills.

(Geshur and Aram captured the towns of Jair, ¹  along with Kenath and its sixty surrounding towns.) All these were descendants of Makir, the father of Gilead.

Zanoah, Adullam and their settlements, in Lachish and its fields, and in Azekah and its villages. So they were encamped from Beer Sheba to the Valley of Hinnom.

For the fortified city ¹  is left alone; it is a deserted settlement and abandoned like the desert. Calves ²  graze there; they lie down there and eat its branches bare. ³ 

Let the desert and its cities shout out, the towns where the nomads of Kedar live! Let the residents of Sela shout joyfully; let them shout loudly from the mountaintops.

You will not eat anything made with yeast; in all the places where you live you must eat bread made without yeast.’”

And you must not eat any blood of the birds or the domesticated land animals in any of the places where you live. ¹
