let them ¹  drink and forget ²  their poverty, and remember their misery no more.

In all hard work ¹  there is profit, but merely talking about it ²  only brings ³  poverty. ⁴ 

and your poverty will come like a robber, ¹  and your need like an armed man. ² 

The wealth of a rich person is like ¹  a fortified city, ²  but the poor are brought to ruin ³  by ⁴  their poverty.

and your poverty will come like a bandit, and your need like an armed robber.” ¹ 

The one who neglects ¹  discipline ends up in ²  poverty and shame, but the one who accepts reproof is honored. ³ 

because drunkards and gluttons become impoverished, and drowsiness ¹  clothes them with rags. ² 

The plans of the diligent ¹  lead ²  only to plenty, ³  but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty. ⁴ 

The stingy person ¹  hastens after riches and does not know that poverty will overtake him. ² 

The one who works his land will be satisfied with food, ¹  but whoever chases daydreams ²  will have his fill ³  of poverty.

Remove falsehood and lies ¹  far from me; do not give me poverty or riches, feed me with my allotted portion ²  of bread, ³ 

that during a severe ordeal of suffering, their abundant joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in the wealth ¹  of their generosity.

‘I know the distress you are suffering ¹  and your poverty (but you are rich). I also know ²  the slander against you ³  by those who call themselves Jews and really are not, but are a synagogue ⁴  of Satan.

The one who oppresses the poor to increase his own gain and the one who gives to the rich ¹  – both end up only in poverty.

The one who is lazy ¹  becomes poor, ²  but the one who works diligently ³  becomes wealthy. ⁴
