His lightning bolts light up the world; the earth sees and trembles.

The living beings moved backward and forward as quickly as flashes of lightning. ¹ 

His ¹  appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.

With his hands ¹  he covers ²  the lightning, and directs it against its target.

Under the whole heaven he lets it go, even his lightning to the far corners ¹  of the earth.

He shot ¹  arrows and scattered them, ²  lightning and routed them. ³ 

Can you send out lightning bolts, and they go? Will they say to you, ‘Here we are’?

Hurl lightning bolts and scatter them! Shoot your arrows and rout them! ¹ 

For just like the lightning ¹  comes from the east and flashes to the west, so the coming of the Son of Man will be.

So ¹  he said to them, “I saw ²  Satan fall ³  like lightning ⁴  from heaven.

When he imposed a limit ¹  for the rain, and a path for the thunderstorm, ² 

He rained hail down on their cattle, ¹  and hurled lightning bolts down on their livestock. ² 

See how he scattered ¹  his lightning ²  about him; he has covered the depths ³  of the sea.

He loads the clouds with moisture; ¹  he scatters his lightning through the clouds.

Do you know how God commands them, ¹  how he makes lightning flash in his storm cloud? ² 

The chariots ¹  race madly ²  through the streets, they rush back and forth ³  in the broad plazas; they look ⁴  like lightning bolts, ⁵  they dash here and there ⁶  like flashes of lightning. ⁷ 

He sent hail along with the rain; ¹  there was lightning in their land. ² 

On ¹  the third day in the morning there was thunder and lightning and a dense ²  cloud on the mountain, and the sound of a very loud ³  horn; ⁴  all the people who were in the camp trembled.
