Sarah said, “God has made me laugh. ¹  Everyone who hears about this ²  will laugh ³  with me.”

The one enthroned ¹  in heaven laughs in disgust; ²  the Lord taunts ³  them.

A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.

The Lord laughs in disgust ¹  at them, for he knows that their day is coming. ² 

When the godly see this, they will be filled with awe, and will mock the evildoer, saying: ¹ 

so ¹  I myself will laugh ²  when disaster strikes you, ³  I will mock when what you dread ⁴  comes,

Then Sarah lied, saying, “I did not laugh,” because she was afraid. But the Lord said, “No! You did laugh.” ¹ 

You will laugh at destruction and famine ¹  and need not ²  be afraid of the beasts of the earth.

And they began making fun ¹  of him, because they knew ²  that she was dead. ³ 

A club is counted ¹  as a piece of straw; it laughs at the rattling of the lance.

But you, O Lord, laugh in disgust at them; ¹  you taunt ²  all the nations.

It laughs at fear and is not dismayed; it does not shy away from the sword.

he said, “Go away, for the girl is not dead but asleep.” And they began making fun of him. ¹ 

The righteous see their destruction ¹  and rejoice; the innocent mock them scornfully, ²  saying,

So Sarah laughed to herself, thinking, ¹  “After I am worn out will I have pleasure, ²  especially when my husband is old too?” ³ 

The Lord said to Abraham, “Why ¹  did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Will I really ²  have a child when I am old?’

“Woe to you who are well satisfied with food ¹  now, for you will be hungry. “Woe to you ²  who laugh ³  now, for you will mourn and weep.

But as soon as she springs up, ¹  she laughs at the horse and its rider.

You have made our neighbors dislike us, ¹  and our enemies insult us.

If a wise person ¹  goes to court ²  with a foolish person, there is no peace ³  whether he is angry or laughs. ⁴
