Consequently ¹  God sends on them a deluding influence ²  so that they will believe what is false.

if I have raised my hand ¹  to vote against the orphan, when I saw my support in the court, ² 

A city is exalted by the blessing provided from ¹  the upright, but it is destroyed by the counsel ²  of the wicked. ³ 

influenced by the hypocrisy of liars ¹  whose consciences are seared. ² 

for you are still influenced by the flesh. ¹  For since there is still jealousy and dissension among you, are you not influenced by the flesh and behaving like unregenerate people? ² 

The man became wealthy. ¹  His influence continued to grow ²  until he became very prominent.

While under the influence ¹  of the wine, Belshazzar issued an order to bring in the gold and silver vessels – the ones that Nebuchadnezzar his father ²  had confiscated ³  from the temple in Jerusalem ⁴  – so that the king and his nobles, together with his wives and his concubines, could drink from them. ⁵
