I planted, ¹  Apollos watered, but God caused it to grow.

When the hay is removed and new grass appears, and the grass from the hills is gathered in,

So neither the one who plants counts for anything, ¹  nor the one who waters, but God who causes the growth.

The sovereign Lord showed me this: I saw ¹  him making locusts just as the crops planted late ²  were beginning to sprout. (The crops planted late sprout after the royal harvest. ³ )

He has not held fast ¹  to the head from whom the whole body, supported ²  and knit together through its ligaments and sinews, grows with a growth that is from God. ³ 

You saturate ¹  its furrows, and soak ²  its plowed ground. ³  With rain showers you soften its soil, ⁴  and make its crops grow. ⁵ 

May he increase your numbers, yours and your children’s! ¹ 

for the swelling, ¹  for the scab, ²  and for the bright spot, ³ 

For the waters of Nimrim are gone; ¹  the grass is dried up, the vegetation has disappeared, and there are no plants.

The one who speaks in a tongue builds himself up, ¹  but the one who prophesies builds up the church.
