The grass dries up, the flowers wither, when the wind sent by the Lord ¹  blows on them. Surely humanity ²  is like grass.

For all flesh ¹  is like grass and all its glory like the flower of the grass; ²  the grass withers and the flower falls off,

For they will quickly dry up like grass, and wither away like plants. ¹ 

They traded their majestic God ¹  for the image of an ox that eats grass.

The grass dries up, the flowers wither, but the decree of our God is forever reliable.” ¹ 

They will sprout up like a tree in the grass, ¹  like poplars beside channels of water.
