Toward this goal ¹  I also labor, struggling according to his power that powerfully ²  works in me.

for the one bringing forth in you both the desire and the effort – for the sake of his good pleasure – is God.

His bones ¹  were full of his youthful vigor, ²  but that vigor will lie down with him in the dust.

Pleasant words are like ¹  a honeycomb, ²  sweet to the soul and healing ³  to the bones.

gentleness, and ¹  self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Be careful ¹  not to say, “My own ability and skill ²  have gotten me this wealth.”

He will give discernment to the one who makes judicial decisions, and strength to those who defend the city from attackers. ¹ 

He gives strength to those who are tired; to the ones who lack power, he gives renewed energy.

bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat ¹  you.

Now Stephen, full of grace and power, was performing great wonders and miraculous signs ¹  among the people.

So then, let us pursue what makes for peace and for building up one another.

With regard to spiritual gifts, ¹  brothers and sisters, ²  I do not want you to be uninformed. ³ 

But reject those myths ¹  fit only for the godless and gullible, ²  and train yourself for godliness.

Let it be known to the king that we have gone to the province of Judah, to the temple of the great God. It is being built with large stones, ¹  and timbers are being placed in the walls. This work is being done with all diligence and is prospering in their hands.

Do not work for the food that disappears, ¹  but for the food that remains to eternal life – the food ²  which the Son of Man will give to you. For God the Father has put his seal of approval on him.” ³ 

Today I am still as strong as when Moses sent me out. I can fight and go about my daily activities with the same energy I had then. ¹

I alone was left to see this great vision. My strength drained from ¹  me, and my vigor disappeared; ²  I was without energy. ³
