The ¹  first living creature was like a lion, the ²  second creature like an ox, the third creature had a face like a man’s, and the fourth creature looked like an eagle flying.

The living beings moved backward and forward as quickly as flashes of lightning. ¹ 

to distinguish between the unclean and the clean, between the living creatures that may be eaten and the living creatures that must not be eaten.’”

and a third of the creatures ¹  living in the sea died, and a third of the ships were completely destroyed. ² 

Then I looked, ¹  and I saw one wheel ²  on the ground ³  beside each of the four beings.

When the living beings moved, the wheels beside them moved; when the living beings rose up from the ground, the wheels rose up too.

The likes of it is not on earth, a creature ¹  without fear.

However, ¹  Paul ²  shook ³  the creature off into the fire and suffered no harm.

This is the law ¹  of the land animals, the birds, all the living creatures that move in the water, and all the creatures ²  that swarm on the land,

You may eat any clean bird.

But any creatures that do not have both fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the streams, from all the swarming things of the water and from all the living creatures that are in the water, are detestable to you.

Praise the Lord from the earth, you sea creatures and all you ocean depths,

and with every living creature that is with you, including the birds, the domestic animals, and every living creature of the earth with you, all those that came out of the ark with you – every living creature of the earth. ¹ 

In the fire ¹  were what looked like ²  four living beings. ³  In their appearance they had human form, ⁴ 

The cherubim rose up; these were the living beings ¹  I saw at the Kebar River.

And the four living creatures were saying “Amen,” and the elders threw themselves to the ground ¹  and worshiped.

Then ¹  when the Lamb ²  opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come!”

Then ¹  when the Lamb opened the fourth seal I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, “Come!”

In the middle ¹  of the living beings was something like ²  burning coals of fire ³  or like torches. It moved back and forth among the living beings. It was bright, and lightning was flashing out of the fire.

When the rainbow is in the clouds, I will notice it and remember ¹  the perpetual covenant between God and all living creatures of all kinds that are on the earth.”
