And a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, ¹  worth less than a penny.

I tell you, you will never get out of there until you have paid the very last cent!” ¹ 

“Have I ¹  ever said, ²  ‘Give me something, and from your fortune ³  make gifts ⁴  in my favor’?

I tell you the truth, ¹  you will never get out of there until you have paid the last penny! ² 

And after agreeing with the workers for the standard wage, ¹  he sent them into his vineyard.

so ¹  I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. See, you have what is yours.’

Aren’t five sparrows sold for two pennies? ¹  Yet not one of them is forgotten before God.

So then, ¹  brothers and sisters, ²  we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh

Then that wealth was lost through bad luck; ¹  although he fathered a son, he has nothing left to give him. ² 

Those prophets are just prophesying lies. They are prophesying the delusions of their own minds. ¹ 

I will strike you brutally ¹  and destroy you because of your sin.

Aren’t two sparrows sold for a penny? ¹  Yet not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. ² 

After ¹  they arrived in Capernaum, ²  the collectors of the temple tax ³  came to Peter and said, “Your teacher pays the double drachma tax, doesn’t he?”

As ¹  he began settling his accounts, a man who owed ten thousand talents ²  was brought to him.

and said, “What will you give me to betray him into your hands?” ¹  So they set out thirty silver coins for him.

(Now Judas ¹  said this not because he was concerned about the poor, but because he was a thief. As keeper of the money box, ²  he used to steal what was put into it.) ³ 

After ¹  he went out, that same slave found one of his fellow slaves who owed him one hundred silver coins. ²  So ³  he grabbed him by the throat and started to choke him, ⁴  saying, ‘Pay back what you owe me!’ ⁵ 

But so that we don’t offend them, go to the lake and throw out a hook. Take the first fish that comes up, and when you open its mouth, you will find a four drachma coin. ¹  Take that and give it to them for me and you.”
