A person has joy ¹  in giving an appropriate answer, ²  and a word at the right time ³  – how good it is!

And the Lord’s slave ¹  must not engage in heated disputes ²  but be kind toward all, an apt teacher, patient,

The overseer ¹  then must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, ²  temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, an able teacher,

The rules you set down ¹  are completely reliable. ²  Holiness ³  aptly adorns your house, O Lord, forever. ⁴ 

Like apples of gold in settings of silver, ¹  so is a word skillfully spoken. ²
