When ¹  I am afraid, I trust in you.

But they did not understand this statement and were afraid to ask him.

Saul became even more afraid of him. ¹  Saul continued to be at odds with David from then on. ² 

David was afraid of the Lord that day and said, “How will the ark of the Lord ever come to me?”

Then all the people, from the youngest to the oldest, as well as the army officers, left for ¹  Egypt, because they were afraid of what the Babylonians might do.

For now ¹  you have become like these streams that are no help; ²  you see a terror, ³  and are afraid.

in God I trust, I am not afraid. What can mere men ¹  do to me? ² 

But Jesus came and touched them. “Get up,” he said. “Do not be afraid.”

When it rises up, the mighty are terrified, at its thrashing about they withdraw. ¹
