For it seems unreasonable to me to send a prisoner without clearly indicating ¹  the charges against him.”

but we preach about a crucified Christ, ¹  a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles.

I will denounce your so-called righteousness and your deeds, ¹  but they will not help you.

For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

For the wisdom of this age is foolishness with God. As it is written, “He catches the wise in their craftiness.” ¹ 

Fool! What you sow will not come to life unless it dies.

and that we may be delivered from perverse and evil people. For not all have faith.

The one who loves money ¹  will never be satisfied with money, ²  he who loves wealth ³  will never be satisfied ⁴  with his ⁵  income. This also is futile.

The Lord says, ¹  “I saw the prophets of Samaria ²  doing something that was disgusting. ³  They prophesied in the name of the god Baal and led my people Israel astray. ⁴ 

For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, ¹  and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength. ²

O Timothy, protect what has been entrusted to you. Avoid ¹  the profane chatter and absurdities ²  of so-called “knowledge.” ³

I thought deeply ¹  about the effects of ²  indulging ³  myself ⁴  with wine (all the while ⁵  my mind was guiding me ⁶  with wisdom) ⁷  and the effects of ⁸  behaving foolishly, ⁹  so that I might discover what is profitable for people to do on earth during the few days of their lives.
