Panic and pitfall ¹  have come upon us, devastation and destruction. ² 

That day Isaac’s servants came and told him about the well they had dug. “We’ve found water,” they reported. ¹ 

We have sinned like ¹  our ancestors; ²  we have done wrong, we have done evil.

¹ O Lord, reflect on ²  what has happened to us; consider ³  and look at ⁴  our disgrace.

“Are you the one who is to come, ¹  or should we look for another?”

Therefore we are sending ¹  Judas and Silas ²  who will tell you these things themselves in person. ³

May those who say to me, “Aha! Aha!” be humiliated ¹  and disgraced! ² 

“We ¹  have blatantly rebelled; ²  you ³  have not forgiven.”
