Now when you come together at the same place, you are not really eating the Lord’s Supper.

he got up from the meal, removed ¹  his outer clothes, ²  took a towel and tied it around himself. ³ 

Then ¹  the angel ²  said to me, “Write the following: Blessed are those who are invited to the banquet at the wedding celebration of the Lamb!” He also said to me, “These are the true words of God.”

Then ¹  I saw one angel standing in ²  the sun, and he shouted in a loud voice to all the birds flying high in the sky: ³  “Come, gather around for the great banquet ⁴  of God,

And in the same way he took ¹  the cup after they had eaten, ²  saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant ³  in my blood.

The evening meal ¹  was in progress, and the devil had already put into the heart ²  of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, that he should betray ³  Jesus. ⁴ 

In the same way, he also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, every time you drink it, in remembrance of me.”

So they prepared a dinner for Jesus ¹  there. Martha ²  was serving, and Lazarus was among those present at the table ³  with him.

For when it is time to eat, everyone proceeds with his own supper. One is hungry and another becomes drunk.

Won’t ¹  the master ²  instead say to him, ‘Get my dinner ready, and make yourself ready ³  to serve me while ⁴  I eat and drink. Then ⁵  you may eat and drink’?

Peter turned around and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them. ¹  (This was the disciple ²  who had leaned back against Jesus’ ³  chest at the meal and asked, ⁴  “Lord, who is the one who is going to betray you?”) ⁵ 

But Jesus ¹  said to him, “A man once gave a great banquet ²  and invited ³  many guests. ⁴ 

For I tell you, not one of those individuals ¹  who were invited ²  will taste my banquet!’” ³ 

So ¹  the disciples did as Jesus had instructed them, and they prepared the Passover.

So ¹  they went and found things ²  just as he had told them, ³  and they prepared the Passover.

They were devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, ¹  to the breaking of bread and to prayer. ² 

So then, my brothers and sisters, ¹  when you come together to eat, wait for one another.

At ¹  the time for the banquet ²  he sent his slave ³  to tell those who had been invited, ‘Come, because everything is now ready.’

On the first day ¹  of the week, when we met ²  to break bread, Paul began to speak ³  to the people, and because he intended ⁴  to leave the next day, he extended ⁵  his message until midnight.

Calamity is ¹  hungry for him, ²  and misfortune is ready at his side. ³
