Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. ¹ 

The sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. (Now Ham was the father of Canaan.) ¹ 

Noah had ¹  three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

The sons of Ham were Cush, ¹  Mizraim, ²  Put, ³  and Canaan. ⁴ 

These are the sons of Ham, according to their families, according to their languages, by their lands, and by their nations.

The sons of Ham: Cush, Mizraim, ¹  Put, and Canaan.

Israel moved to ¹  Egypt; Jacob lived for a time ²  in the land of Ham.

They executed his miraculous signs among them, ¹  and his amazing deeds in the land of Ham.

After Noah was 500 years old, he ¹  became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

Ham, the father of Canaan, ¹  saw his father’s nakedness ²  and told his two brothers who were outside.

He struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, the firstfruits of their reproductive power ¹  in the tents of Ham.

On that very day Noah entered the ark, accompanied by his sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth, along with his wife and his sons’ three wives. ¹ 

This is the account ¹  of Noah’s sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Sons ²  were born ³  to them after the flood.

In the fourteenth year, Kedorlaomer and the kings who were his allies came and defeated ¹  the Rephaites in Ashteroth Karnaim, the Zuzites in Ham, the Emites in Shaveh Kiriathaim,

They found fertile and rich pasture; the land was very broad, undisturbed and peaceful. Indeed some Hamites had been living there prior to that.

When Noah awoke from his drunken stupor ¹  he learned ²  what his youngest son had done ³  to him.

So he said, “Cursed ¹  be Canaan! ²  The lowest of slaves ³  he will be to his brothers.”

The men whose names are listed came during the time of King Hezekiah of Judah and attacked the Hamites’ settlements, ¹  as well as the Meunites they discovered there, and they wiped them out to this very day. They dispossessed them, ²  for they found pasture for their sheep there.
