This is the account of Esau, the father ¹  of the Edomites, in the hill country of Seir.

The leaders brought onyx stones and other gems to be mounted ¹  for the ephod and the breastpiece,

So Balak took Balaam to the top of Peor, that looks toward the wilderness. ¹ 

The Lord spoke face to face with you at the mountain, from the middle of the fire.

Written by the Korahites; a psalm, a song. The Lord’s city is in the holy hills. ² 

He and all his men ¹  went up on Mount Zalmon. He ²  took an ax ³  in his hand and cut off a tree branch. He put it ⁴  on his shoulder and said to his men, “Quickly, do what you have just seen me do!” ⁵ 

You are to engrave the two stones with the names of the sons of Israel with the work of an engraver in stone, like the engravings of a seal; ¹  you are to have them set ²  in gold filigree ³  settings.

and to Isaac I gave Jacob and Esau. To Esau I assigned Mount Seir, ¹  while Jacob and his sons went down to Egypt.

It is like the dew of Hermon, ¹  which flows down upon the hills of Zion. ²  Indeed ³  that is where the Lord has decreed a blessing will be available – eternal life. ⁴ 

When the cherubim moved, the wheels moved beside them; when the cherubim spread ¹  their wings to rise from the ground, the wheels did not move from their side.

When the cherubim ¹  stood still, the wheels ²  stood still, and when they rose up, the wheels ³  rose up with them, for the spirit ⁴  of the living beings ⁵  was in the wheels. ⁶ 

Amos ¹  said: “The Lord comes roaring ²  out of Zion; from Jerusalem ³  he comes bellowing! ⁴  The shepherds’ pastures wilt; ⁵  the summit of Carmel ⁶  withers.” ⁷ 

At that time,” ¹  the Lord says, “I will destroy the wise sages of Edom! ²  the advisers ³  from Esau’s mountain! ⁴ 

“Tell the people of Zion, ¹  ‘Look, your king is coming to you, unassuming and seated on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’” ² 

Moses went into the cloud when he went up ¹  the mountain, and Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights. ² 

The Lord our God spoke to us at Horeb and said, “You have stayed ¹  in the area of this mountain long enough.

I passed on to the Gate of the Well and the King’s Pool, where there was not enough room for my animal to pass with me.

He makes Lebanon skip like a calf and Sirion ¹  like a young ox. ² 

A song of ascents. ²  I look up ³  toward the hills. From where ⁴  does my help come?

The cherubim rose up; these were the living beings ¹  I saw at the Kebar River.
