They repay me evil for the good I have done; though I have tried to do good to them, they hurl accusations at me. ¹ 

My soul ¹  pursues you; ²  your right hand upholds me.

For they harass ¹  the one whom you discipline; ²  they spread the news about the suffering of those whom you punish. ³ 

The one who works ¹  his field will have plenty ²  of food, but whoever chases daydreams ³  lacks wisdom. ⁴ 

One who has isolated himself ¹  seeks his own desires; ²  he rejects ³  all sound judgment.

They will eat, but not be satisfied; they will engage in prostitution, but not increase in numbers; because they have abandoned the Lord by pursuing other gods. ¹ 

But Jesus said to him, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.” ¹ 

Then many will be led into sin, ¹  and they will betray one another and hate one another.

For all the nations of the world pursue ¹  these things, and your Father knows that you need them.

Instead, pursue ¹  his ²  kingdom, ³  and these things will be given to you as well.

we are persecuted, but not abandoned; ¹  we are knocked down, ²  but not destroyed,

For God is my witness that I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.

in that he spends the rest of his time ¹  on earth concerned about the will of God and not human desires.

The Lord routed ¹  them before Israel. Israel ²  thoroughly defeated them ³  at Gibeon. They chased them up the road to the pass ⁴  of Beth Horon and struck them down all the way to Azekah and Makkedah.

The Lord handed them over to Israel and they struck them down and chased them all the way to Greater Sidon, ¹  Misrephoth Maim, ²  and the Mizpah Valley to the east. They struck them down until no survivors remained.

Now David’s soldiers ¹  and Joab were coming back from a raid, bringing a great deal of plunder with them. Abner was no longer with David in Hebron, for David ²  had sent him away and he had left in peace.

So Gehazi ran after Naaman. When Naaman saw someone running after him, he got down from his chariot to meet him and asked, “Is everything all right?” ¹ 

ג (Gimel) Judah ¹  has departed into exile under ²  affliction and harsh oppression. ³  She ⁴  lives among the nations; she has found no resting place. All who pursued her overtook her in ⁵  narrow straits. ⁶ 

You must ¹  observe the Sabbath ²  rather than doing anything you please on my holy day. ³  You must look forward to the Sabbath ⁴  and treat the Lord’s holy day with respect. ⁵  You must treat it with respect by refraining from your normal activities, and by refraining from your selfish pursuits and from making business deals. ⁶ 

At noon Elijah mocked them, “Yell louder! After all, he is a god; he may be deep in thought, or perhaps he stepped out for a moment or has taken a trip. Perhaps he is sleeping and needs to be awakened.” ¹
