So Joab and his brother Abishai killed Abner, because he had killed their brother Asahel in Gibeon during the battle.

They seized her and took her into the precincts of the royal palace through the horses’ entrance. ¹  There she was executed.

and the Sabeans ¹  swooped down ²  and carried them all away, and they killed ³  the servants with the sword! ⁴  And I – only I alone ⁵  – escaped to tell you!”

Why have you shown contempt for the word of the Lord by doing evil in my ¹  sight? You have struck down Uriah the Hittite with the sword and you have taken his wife as your own! ²  You have killed him with the sword of the Ammonites.
