Then Moses said to Aaron, “Tell the whole community ¹  of the Israelites, ‘Come ²  before the Lord, because he has heard your murmurings.’”

When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, the skin of his face shone; ¹  and they were afraid to approach him.

Whenever the tabernacle is to move, ¹  the Levites must take it down, and whenever the tabernacle is to be reassembled, ²  the Levites must set it up. ³  Any unauthorized person ⁴  who approaches it must be killed.

So you are to appoint Aaron and his sons, and they will be responsible for their priesthood; ¹  but the unauthorized person ²  who comes near must be put to death.”

He has brought you near and all your brothers, the sons of Levi, with you. Do you now seek ¹  the priesthood also?

You approached and stood at the foot of the mountain, a mountain ablaze to the sky above it ¹  and yet dark with a thick cloud. ²

So Aaron approached the altar and slaughtered the sin offering calf which was for himself.

So they came near and carried them away in their tunics to a place outside the camp just as Moses had spoken.
