Now on the first day of the feast of ¹  Unleavened Bread the disciples came to Jesus and said, ²  “Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover?” ³ 

Wherever he enters, tell the owner of the house, ‘The Teacher says, “Where is my guest room where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?”’

So ¹  the disciples left, went ²  into the city, and found things just as he had told them, ³  and they prepared the Passover.

Stay ¹  in that same house, eating and drinking what they give you, ²  for the worker deserves his pay. ³  Do not move around from house to house.

“Would any one of you say ¹  to your slave ²  who comes in from the field after plowing or shepherding sheep, ‘Come at once and sit down for a meal’? ³ 

And he said to them, “I have earnestly desired ¹  to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.

Listen! ¹  I am standing at the door and knocking! If anyone hears my voice and opens the door I will come into his home ²  and share a meal with him, and he with me.

Ornan told David, “You can have it! ¹  My master, the king, may do what he wants. ²  Look, I am giving you the oxen for burnt sacrifices, the threshing sledges for wood, and the wheat for an offering. I give it all to you.”

But in the seventh month ¹  Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah and grandson of Elishama who was a member of the royal family and had been one of Zedekiah’s chief officers, came with ten of his men to Gedaliah son of Ahikam at Mizpah. While they were eating a meal together with him there at Mizpah,

“As for you, son of man, this is what the sovereign Lord says: Tell every kind of bird and every wild beast: ‘Assemble and come! Gather from all around to my slaughter ¹  which I am going to make for you, a great slaughter on the mountains of Israel! You will eat flesh and drink blood.

When the men got up to leave, ¹  they looked out over ²  Sodom. (Now ³  Abraham was walking with them to see them on their way.) ⁴ 

Then she handed ¹  the tasty food and the bread she had made to her son Jacob.

The bad-looking, thin cows ate the seven fine-looking, fat cows. Then Pharaoh woke up.

The lean, bad-looking cows ate up the seven ¹  fat cows.

Moses said, “Eat it today, for today is a Sabbath to the Lord; today you will not find it in the area. ¹ 

Aaron and his sons are to eat the meat of the ram and the bread that was in the basket at the entrance of the tent of meeting.

Then the priest must offer it up in smoke on the altar as a food gift to the Lord. ¹ 

“‘This is the law of the grain offering. The sons of Aaron are to present it ¹  before the Lord in front of the altar,

and their grain offering and their drink offerings for the bulls, for the rams, and for the lambs, according to their number as prescribed,

and their grain offering and their drink offerings for the bulls, for the rams, and for the lambs, according to their number as prescribed,
