But I will bring in your little ones, whom you said would become victims of war, ¹  and they will enjoy ²  the land that you have despised.

Then they came very close to him and said, “We will build sheep folds here for our flocks and cities for our families, ¹ 

So build cities for your descendants and pens for your sheep, but do what you have said ¹  you would do.”

your infants, your wives, and the ¹  foreigners living in your encampment, those who chop wood and those who carry water –

So David said to Ittai, “Come along then.” ¹  So Ittai the Gittite went along, ²  accompanied by all his men and all the dependents ³  who were with him.

For “physical exercise ¹  has some value, but godliness is valuable in every way. It holds promise for the present life and for the life to come.”

This brings you great joy, ¹  although you may have to suffer ²  for a short time in various trials.

I am writing to you, ¹  little children, that ²  your sins have been forgiven because of his ³  name.

Little children, let no one deceive you: The one who practices righteousness ¹  is righteous, just as Jesus ²  is righteous.
