he should know that the one who turns a sinner back from his wandering path ¹  will save that person’s ²  soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.

and said, “If now I have found favor in your sight, O Lord, let my Lord ¹  go among us, for we ²  are a stiff-necked people; pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.”

So the Lord replied, “If I find in the city of Sodom fifty godly people, I will spare the whole place for their sake.”

At the end of every seven years you must declare a cancellation ¹  of debts.

Those truly of Israelite descent ¹  separated from all the foreigners, ²  standing and confessing their sins and the iniquities of their ancestors. ³ 

If I sinned, then you would watch me and you would not acquit me of my iniquity.

Who can know all his errors? ¹  Please do not punish me for sins I am unaware of. ² 

You pardoned ¹  the wrongdoing of your people; you forgave ²  all their sin. (Selah)

But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and merciful God. You are patient ¹  and demonstrate great loyal love and faithfulness. ² 

He remembered his covenant with them, and relented ¹  because of his great loyal love.

May his ancestors’ ¹  sins be remembered by the Lord! May his mother’s sin not be forgotten! ² 

A person’s wisdom ¹  makes him slow to anger, ²  and it is his glory ³  to overlook ⁴  an offense.

I will avenge ¹  their blood which I had not previously acquitted. It is the Lord who dwells in Zion!

Whoever then humbles himself like this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

I tell you the truth, ¹  people will be forgiven for all sins, even all the blasphemies they utter. ² 

“Blessed ¹  are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered;

The majority of the many people from Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun were ceremonially unclean, yet they ate the Passover in violation of what is prescribed in the law. ¹  For Hezekiah prayed for them, saying: “May the Lord, who is good, forgive ² 

Yet he is compassionate. He forgives sin and does not destroy. He often holds back his anger, and does not stir up his fury. ¹ 

Just then ¹  some people ²  brought to him a paralytic lying on a stretcher. ³  When Jesus saw their ⁴  faith, he said to the paralytic, “Have courage, son! Your sins are forgiven.” ⁵ 

Brothers and sisters, ¹  if a person ²  is discovered in some sin, ³  you who are spiritual ⁴  restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness. ⁵  Pay close attention ⁶  to yourselves, so that you are not tempted too.
