Though he causes us ¹  grief, he then has compassion on us ²  according to the abundance of his loyal kindness. ³ 

I heard, but I did not understand. So I said, “Sir, ¹  what will happen after these things?”

Although Ephraim has built many altars for sin offerings, these have become altars for sinning!

Peter said to him, “Even if they all fall away, I will not!”

But ¹  when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled back.

(For Jesus himself had testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country.) ¹ 

But I told you ¹  that you have seen me ²  and still do not believe.

Though ¹  they found ²  no basis ³  for a death sentence, ⁴  they asked Pilate to have him executed.

It is necessary to go on boasting. ¹  Though it is not profitable, I will go on to visions and revelations from the Lord.

For he was still in his ancestor Abraham’s loins ¹  when Melchizedek met him.

You have condemned and murdered the righteous person, although he does not resist you. ¹ 

Israel stretched out his right hand and placed it on Ephraim’s head, although he was the younger. ¹  Crossing his hands, he put his left hand on Manasseh’s head, for Manasseh was the firstborn.

At that time I instructed you as follows: “The Lord your God has given you this land for your possession. You warriors are to cross over before your fellow Israelites ¹  equipped for battle.

However, you may not eat the following animals among those that chew the cud or those that have divided hooves: the camel, the hare, and the rock badger. ¹  (Although they chew the cud, they do not have divided hooves and are therefore ritually impure to you).

Samuel said, “Is it not true that when you were insignificant in your own eyes, you became head of the tribes of Israel? The Lord chose ¹  you as king over Israel.

But the king said to Absalom, “No, my son. We shouldn’t all go. We shouldn’t burden you in that way.” Though Absalom ¹  pressed ²  him, the king ³  was not willing to go. Instead, David ⁴  blessed him.

Now, O Lord my God, you have made your servant king in my father David’s place, even though I am only a young man and am inexperienced. ¹ 

The messengers came again and said, “This is what Ben Hadad says, ‘I sent this message to you, “You must give me your silver, gold, wives, and sons.”

Even though a sinner might commit a hundred crimes ¹  and still live a long time, ²  yet I know that it will go well with God-fearing people ³  – for they stand in fear ⁴  before him.
